Crossing Borders

VisionWorkshops developed the Crossing Borders program as a way to address the assimilation process that young immigrants and refugees experience when relocating to the United States.  Through written assignments and photography, students are empowered to share their journey stories with each other and discover commonalities, crossing over previous borders and barriers to understanding and compassion.

Our Crossing Borders programs are currently being held at middle and high schools in Annapolis and Baltimore, MD.

Our work with Baltimore City Community College’s Refugee Youth Project has been exhibited at Baltimore’s Creative Alliance, the Walters Art Museum, and Stevenson University.
