After a thorough introduction to the Ocean for Life program objectives and the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary, the students began their field study by learning about the elements that help build a healthy foundation of sustenance for marine life.  While doing activities such as water quality testing at popular Hendry’s beach and visiting with Chumash Indian decendents, learning about their fundamental and spiritual connection to the ocean and it’s resources, the students were able to grasp a well-rounded understanding of the importance of conserving and protecting our planet’s bodies of water.
